The Decorpanel Story

Established in 1998 and based in Tyne & Wear, Decorpanel quickly developed a trade-wide reputation for technical excellence and service. The site provides cutting, machining, laminating and edge-banding solutions for a wide range of industries across the UK. These include furniture manufacture, specialist packaging, interior fit-out, as well as engineering and numerous other applications.

In February 2023, the business was acquired by Premier Forest Products, an independent timber supplier with panel processing services and capabilities. Decorpanel was an ideal fit to compliment these services and enable Premier Forest to further expand in the north of England.

The second part of our story involves a company formerly known as North-East Sheets & Panels (NESP) Ltd. NESP was a specialist manufacturer and supplier of quality, made-to-measure doors, panels, cabinets and worktops to trade customers and retailers in the fitted kitchen, bathroom and bedroom (KBB) sector.

Based on a 30,000ft­­² site, NESP is just a short distance from Decorpanel in the north-east of England and joined Premier Forest Products in November 2023.

Given the clear synergies between NESP and Decorpanel, and the close proximity of the sites, NESP was re-branded as Decorpanel KBB in March 2024.

The next logical step to further expand and clarify our processing offer within the Premier Forest group, was to bring Premier Processing & Fabrication under the Decorpanel brand.  Based in Newport, South Wales, Premier Processing & Fabrication was established in 2013 and offers specialist panel processing services. In addition to cutting, routing, edging and drilling, our Newport site offers profiling, tongue & grooving, bonding, laminating, veneering, foiling, painting & lacquering and factory-applied treatments such as fire retardance and preservatives.

Additionally, recent investment in new machinery at our Newport site means that we can produce panels with bespoke double-edged profiles on a speedy turn around, to match your specification drawings.  Furthermore, our new beam saw enables complete flexibility to cut advanced building materials (e.g. cement bonded particle board), in addition to traditional timber-based panels.

Decorpanel KBB specialise in the manufacture and supply of made-to-measure doors, panels, cabinets and worktops for a wide range of residential, commercial and public sector projects.  Our in-house cabinet manufacturing product designers have been through extensive training and are able to help customers with choosing the right product and offer guidance on how to install it in the right way.

Our KBB range includes Vetreo doors, Infinity Doors (including our Xpression range), and Uform Doors, as well as Mistral worktops, Egger worktops and more.
